Hot Smoked Paprika 500g/350g
Pimentón de La Vera (Smoked Paprika from "La Vera") has a unique & intense smokey flavour with deep red tones that will be imparted to whatever Spanish culinary masterpiece you are creating. A widely used and versatile seasoning across Spain (and our own kitchen!).
Pimenton is created by smoking hand-picked peppers in what are effectively attics of purpose built smokehouses, with slow burning oak wood fires in the rooms below. Regular hand turning of the peppers during their two week smoking period ensures the uniformity and intensity of flavour.
This Pimentón de La Vera is a Denominación de Origen (D.O.) which is a stamp of it quality and authenticity, it shouldn't be confused with the more basic & generic varieties which can be found in supermarkets or with other vendors!
Spanish cuisine uses 5 types of paprika, all of them can be referred to as “Pimentón” but they are very different
